The American Pamphlet series draws on the United States’ rich history of pamphleteers who have written notable documents that have influenced the history of the country. The Oxford Dictionary describes a pamphlet as “a small booklet or leaflet containing information or arguments about a single subject”. This type of publication became very popular and also very important leading up to the American Revolution as well as during the formative years of our country. One of the most famous examples was Thomas Paine’s Common Sense which successfully stirred up many in the colonies to support independence from England.
This modern American Pamphlet series will offer a set of tracts focusing on pressing socio-political issues in modern America, offering clear, thoughtful arguments designed to spark meaningful reflection and change.
